OLGA BOOKISH BANGLES: VERA

Every time I create a bangle I’m thinking about a girl who could wear it: how she looks like? What does she do? What does she like? Those questions are very easy to answer when you make a bangle for a definite person, but sometimes I simply see a pattern. To whom it may belong?

Meditating on this, I’ve got an idea to create a bookish collection dedicated to the heroines of Yulia Ravvina’s books. I know these girls very well, I love and admire them, they make me laugh or cry every time I read one of Yulia’s books, and, of course, they inspire me a lot. So my OLGA BOOKISH BANGLES COLLECTION is only a natural consequence of my friendship with these girls.

The first piece of the collection is a VERA’S BANGLE. Vera is a heroine of THE ISLAND. After graduating from a high school the girl enters a University situated on a mysterious island – being a part of the city where the heroine lives the island seems to have its own time, own history, own destiny, own customs and own law. Everyone who crosses a river becomes a prisoner of the place and has to accept its strange rules. Vera needs to understand them too; especially when between locals she meets her love – Nikolay.

This is a story of the first love, growing up, self-definition and self-knowledge.  Of course, I love this brave and tender girl and I wish my bangle would belong to someone like her)))
